Teach to Task Model
The assigned hours for courses are designed for maximum student considerations.
Training should be conducted using a teach to task model, meaning instructors ensure all required modules are completed while adjusting delivery based on class size and learning needs.
Provided the training is taught to fit the task and all modules are covered, instructors may adjust the number of training hours or days.
For example, a rifle course scheduled as a three day class with forty officers may require the full three days to complete all modules. The same course with a single officer or a small group may reasonably be completed in a shorter period once all required modules are successfully taught and evaluated.
Instructors should document any changes or shortened training schedules to ensure accountability and training transparency.
